Office of Policy

The Office of Policy supports the Secretary of Energy, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretaries, and the entire Department of Energy, providing analysis on domestic energy policy and related integration of energy systems. Its work spans technology policy, infrastructure policy, state, local, tribal, and territorial policy, and energy jobs. It provides expertise in electricity systems, buildings and industry, mobility and fuels, energy security, and the energy system and supply chains. Working in coordination with the White House, Capitol Hill, other federal agencies, and local stakeholders, the Office of Policy aims to facilitate an affordable, reliable, and secure energy economy.

  • Technology Policy

    The Office of Technology Policy leads U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) efforts to identify technology innovations and strategies that will help achieve national energy priorities. It provides overall DOE strategic direction and centralized coordination of science, energy, and technology research and development—to advance reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible production, delivery, and use of advanced energy technologies.
