The U.S. Energy & Employment Report (USEER) provides a comprehensive account of the energy employment landscape across America, including national, state, and county-level energy jobs data. The USEER tracks energy employment across three energy production sectors (Fuels, Electric Power Generation, and Transmission, Distribution, and Storage) and two end use sectors (Energy Efficiency and Motor Vehicles and Component Parts).
This year, the 2025 USEER includes data on wages and employer benefits, allowing policymakers to understand how the U.S. energy sector provides stable, high-paying employment opportunities to hardworking Americans.
2025 USEER & Data
USEER Background
The USEER, as mandated by Congress in 42 USC 18841, provides a comprehensive account of national, state and county-level energy jobs by industry, technology, and region.
Published annually since 2016, the USEER delivers insights into the energy workforce by tracking and reporting of employment within and across key energy sectors. The report draws on survey responses from more than 42,800 business representatives, together with Bureau of Labor Statistics and other labor market data, to deliver a detailed nation-wide account of the U.S. energy workforce.
