Elke Hodson is the Acting Principal Deputy Director and Director of Technology Policy. She leads a team of experts that advises the Secretary of Energy, the White House, and Congress on policies that drive investments in affordable, reliable and secure energy solutions. For over 14 years, Dr. Hodson has served in various roles in the federal government. At DOE, she previously served as Deputy Director for Technology Policy in the Office of Policy, Acting Director in the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains leading a manufacturing and workforce portfolio, and an energy policy analyst in the Department’s Energy Policy and Systems Analysis office. She also served as senior staff for four years at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Executive Office of the President. Elke holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. from Cornell University.
