Diligent and collaborative partnering efforts between EM and contractor Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) have enabled significant progress in the liquid waste mission at Savannah River Site (SRS).

The liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site (SRS) awarded approximately 80% of its subcontracted work to small businesses in fiscal year 2023 (FY23), surpassing EM’s goal for the 12-month period by more than 30%.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (EM) issued a Draft Request for Proposal for the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) Phase 1B cleanup to be performed at the WVDP Site in western New York.

Employees with Fluor-BWXT-Portsmouth (FBP), EM’s decontamination and decommissioning contractor for the Portsmouth Site, were recently treated to a luncheon, celebrating the completion of 4 million safe work hours.

DOE-EM awarded a new task order contract to Aptim Federal Services, LLC, of Baton Rouge LA under the Nationwide Deactivation, Decommissioning, and Removal (DD&R) contract to perform DD&R of the former Ion Beam Facility (IBF).

DOE EM awarded the Portsmouth Decontamination and Decommissioning Contract (PORTS D&D) to Southern Ohio Cleanup Company, LLC (SOCCo) of Aiken, South Carolina for work to be performed at the Portsmouth Site in southern Ohio.

EM’s Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) recently awarded $14 million, or about 95% of the available fee to the prime contractor at the Portsmouth Site in Ohio for its performance in the first half of fiscal year 2023.
