The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Electricity (OE) held the Frontiers in Energy Storage: Next-Generation Artificial Intelligence (AI) Workshop, a hybrid event that brought together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore the potential of AI tools and advancements for increasing the adoption of grid-scale energy storage. The event was in-person on April 16, 2024 at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Grid-scale energy storage is essential to the clean energy transformation. AI, which innovates enhanced material development, performance validation, and decision-making tools, may impact future grid-scale, long-duration energy storage technology needs.
