On March 16, 2026, the Department of Energy (DOE) issued DOE Order No. 202-26-18, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, to TransAlta Centralia Generation LLC (TransAlta). The order directs TransAlta to ensure Unit 2 of the Centralia Generating Station in Centralia, Washington remains available for operation. This order is in effect beginning on March 17, 2026, through June 14, 2026.
