Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) has prepared this final environmental assessment (EA) for the Big Eddy-Ostrander Conductor Replacement Project (DOE/EA-2287), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of BPA's proposed actions to replace the conductor, replace or install other line components, install fall protection hardware on transmission structures, correct impairments (areas where the distance between the ground and the conductor do not meet standard guidelines), and improve portions of the access roads used to access transmission line structures.

BPA is a federal agency that owns and operates more than 15,000 circuit miles of high-voltage transmission lines, which moves most of the Northwest’s high-voltage power from facilities that generate power to users throughout the region. The Big Eddy-Ostrander transmission line, which was originally constructed 1964, runs generally east to west from the Big Eddy Substation in The Dalles, Oregon, to the Ostrander Substation, near Eagle Creek, Oregon.
