The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to Michigan Technological University (MTU) to design, develop, fabricate, and test a novel desiccant-based clothing dryer technology. A membrane-based lithium bromide (LiBr) dehumidifier system would be developed and then integrated into a gas dryer appliance for performance testing. The project would be completed over three Budget Periods (BPs), with a Go/No-Go Decision Point in between each BP.
