DOE is proposing to provide funding to Ocean Renewable Power Company to further develop hydro power take-off (PTO) components for their marine renewable energy devices. The proposed project would include development and testing of the PTO components, improved designs for bearings, and a sub-sea electrical generator.

DOE completed a previous NEPA review (GFO-0006398-001, CX A9, B3.6, 10/23/2013) that included all tasks and project activities. Project activities would involve research, engineering, and bench-testing of components, and a system integration study of how the components could be incorporated into ORPC’s existing marine renewable devices.
