The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide federal funding to Unico Inc. to research and develop a prototype residential split-system 3-ton Cold C Climate Heat Pump (CCHP) using boosted compression technology and variable speed motors. Over three budget periods, funding would be used to research, design, fabricate, test and validate four prototype CCHP generations.
