Rural & Remote Communities: The Backbone of our Nation

A scenic view of high transmission towers in a remote area of the US

High tension electrical power lines in New Mexico, running along the highway and going toward a large rock formation.

Rural communities form the backbone of our nation. We have relied on these communities to supply the country with critical supplies: food, fuel, natural resources, and much more. Thriving communities in rural areas are beginning to transition away from some of the industries that have supported their communities for decades, such as coal and other fossil fuels, and we know that this means potential impacts on their local workforce and economy.

That's why we've been working closely with rural and remote communities for years to help them achieve their clean energy goals and fund new programs and technologies, build out their local economy, and provide new job opportunities.
