Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project successfully relocating another 1 million tons of uranium mill tailings away from the Colorado River, bringing the cumulative total to 14 million tons permanently disposed.

DOE has awarded EM's Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Project the coveted Superior GreenBuy Award, honoring the site’s efforts to reduce its footprint through environmentally friendly acquisitions over the past five years.

Eight EM sites have been honored with the 2023 Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Purchaser Award, the most the cleanup program has won in a year since the program honoring purchases of sustainable goods began in 2015.
