Members of LPO’s Outreach and Business Development team can discuss projects that may be interested in a loan or loan guarantee. Visit the DOE Accelerator Room in the Innovation Agora (Room 310.C) or schedule a meeting beforehand. The Pathways to Commercial Liftoff team will also be available to discuss how DOE is creating a common fact base and a tool for ongoing dialogue with the private sector on the pathways to commercial liftoff for next-generation geothermal, clean hydrogen, and carbon management.

On Monday, March 18, DOE Loan Programs Office Director Jigar Shah will be participating in two panels at CERAWeek. In this Executive Conference session at 11:00 a.m. he will join a panel to discuss “The ‘Capital Transition’ Funding the Energy Transition.” Panelists will discuss how the capital transition will unfold, including the availability of private and public capital for existing and emerging technologies.

Since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), billions of dollars have spurred investment in the energy sector. Attendees at the Innovation Agora at CERAWeek will have an opportunity to participate in a Lyceum session led by LPO contractors Suresh Vasan and Stuart Page on Tuesday, March 19 from 9:30-10:15 a.m. While not a prerequisite, this session will build on last year’s LPO 101 Lyceum and will offer participants an opportunity to learn and discuss how projects can move from idea to loan closing.

At COP 28, more than 20 countries from four continents launched the Declaration to Triple Nuclear Energy. This commitment has elevated and recognized the importance of nuclear Energy for a net-zero world.
