The Department of Energy (DOE) Savannah River Operations Office (SR) prepared an environmental assessment (EA) (DOE/EA-0826) in 1993 to analyze the potential environmental impacts of continued management of natural resources at the Savannah River Site (SRS) located near Aiken, South Carolina. Based on the analyses in the EA, DOE-SR determined that the proposed action was not a major Federal action significantly affecting the human environment within the meaning of NEPA, and for that reason issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) dated July 15, 1993.
The Department of Energy has prepared an environmental assessment to evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with the implementation of proposed and alternative actions to achieve permit compliance at selected industrial wastewater outfalls at the Savannah River Site.

Ground Water Compliance at the Monument Valley, Arizona, Uranium Mill Tailings Site
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing ground water compliance strategies for the alluvial and De Chelly aquifers at the Monument Valley, Arizona, Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act (UMTRCA) site. Although a compliance strategy is proposed for the De Chelly aquifer because of an isolated area of contamination, the focus of this environmental assessment (EA) is the alluvial (uppermost) aquifer.1 Pilot studies will be conducted for only the alluvial aquifer prior to implementation of the proposed compliance strategies.

In compliance with NEPA, DOE has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA; DOE/EA-1503), entitled Vermont Electric Power Company Proposed Northern Loop Project, to analyze the environmental impacts related to the proposed Federal action of authorizing the requested modifications to the existing PP-66 and PP-82 facilities. Based on the information contained in the EA, DOE has determined that the amendment of Presidential Permits PP-66 and PP-82, as requested in VELC0's application, would not constitute a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment and, therefore, does not require preparation of an environmental impact statement.
