Categorical Exclusion Determinations issued by Kesselring Site.
Naval Nuclear Laboratory will be contracting to perform Decontamination and Decommissioning (D and D) Projects (Task Order No. 2) to remediate, dismantle, and dispose of select above grade structures and select components associated with Building 19 (S3G Plant Support/Interactive Display Equipment (IDE) Building), Building 20 (Equipment Service Building), Building 21 (Fuel Service Building), Building 80A and 80B (M-140 Complex), and Pad 90 (MARF Reactor Access Enclosure).
The Kesselring Site Perimeter Roads Maintenance Project will rehabilitate approximately 11 miles of the Kesselring Site Perimeter Roadway System to include 6 miles of the perimeter loop road and 5 miles of spur roads.
The Kesselring Site Bathroom Refurbishment and Lactation Room Project will convert two (2) existing rooms into lactation rooms and refurbish bathrooms throughout the Kesselring Site (KS) ensuring the restrooms meet code requirements and function properly for a professional environment.
The Classified Islands project will modify existing buildings to create Vault Type Rooms (VTR).
S8G prototype has been in service for over 30 years, its structural steel support systems require refurbishment and replacement.
The KS Building (Bldg.) 28 Motor Drive Replacement (Bldg. 28 MDR) project will replace the existing main propulsion drive located in Bldg. 28 with a new power supply consisting of four new inverters and a new transformer rectifier.
The Outdoor Firing Range Project will complete maintenance activities to replace soil that has eroded over years of nonuse.
The project will replace the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including the Energy Recovery Unit (ERU) and selective heat pumps (15). The Evaporative Cooler will also be replaced.
Replacement of the DFT is required in order to minimize the potential for interruptions to the steam service at KS.
The scope of work includes reconfiguring the space for the new use, upgrading the HVAC system, the electrical, lighting systems, and the telecommunication system.
