The Marine Renewable Energy Center comprises of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, University of Rhode Island, and the University of New Hampshire. The Marine Renewable Energy Center proposes to use federal funds to continue research efforts outlined in the previous year's Candidate Development Program (CDP) of demonstrating the feasibility in developing marine renewable energy. New activities will also take place in continued support of the previous year's CDP's goals.
