The Natural Gas Act of 1938, as amended, requires any person who wishes to engage in the import and/or export of natural gas, (including liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas, compressed gas liquids, etc.) from and/or to a foreign country to first obtain an authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Within DOE, the Office of Global Energy Security - Division of Regulation, is responsible for granting such authorizations.

- Service List -The Division of Regulation maintains service lists for all proceedings. Service lists are restricted to intervenors. So, you MUST file a request to intervene in order to added to a service list. The only way to be added to a service list is to intervene. Intervenors on the Service List will receive the applicant's filings, Department documents related to the case, and materials filed by other interested parties. However, as an intervenor, you are also obligated to give copies of what you file to all the other parties on the Service List. Inclusion on the service list does not indicate party status in any particular phase of a proceeding.
