The Integrated Waste Treatment Unit has progressed to treating sodium-bearing waste entirely, the next step in efficiently removing remaining liquid radioactive waste from nearby Cold War-era underground tanks and closing them to protect the environment.
The “No One Fights Alone” event last week brought together representatives from the medical research community, federal government and private companies who are making advances in cancer research. The program’s name served as a reminder to those battling cancer that an entire community is fighting alongside them.
