EHSS Office of Worker Safety and Health Policy hosted a presentation titled: Amputations, Machine Guarding, and Pinch Points

February 26 – March 8, EHSS leadership and staff, working closely with Host partners in the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), participated in the International Atomic Energy Agency International Physical Protection Advisory Services (IPPAS) Mission in the United States.

Last week, March 11-March 14, the Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) was well represented at the Waste Management (WM) Symposia 2024 in Phoenix, Arizona.

This program, offered by Partnership for Public Service, has helped develop strong leadership skills through application-based learning, highly interactive activities, authentic self-reflection, personalized coaching and governmentwide networking for over 30 years.

On February 20, 2024, EHSS entered into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). This MOU seeks to promote efficiencies and leverage unique and complementary competencies between agencies to advance worker safety and health (WSH) in DOE subterranean/underground operations.

Since its inception, the program has stood as a testament to the government's commitment to the well-being of its workforce, disbursing over $25 billion in compensation and medical benefits to 141,000 deserving individuals.
