On December 4, the Treasury Department and the IRS released final rules on the Section 48 Energy Credit, known colloquially as the Investment Tax Credit (ITC). Specifically on hydrogen, the final rules clarify that hydrogen energy storage property does not need to store hydrogen that is solely used as energy and not for other purposes.
