On September 11, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued emergency DOE Order No. 202-26-44, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, to TransAlta Centralia Generation, LLC (TransAlta). The order directs TransAlta to ensure Unit 2 of the Centralia Generating Station in Centralia, Washington remains available to operate at the direction of either Gridforce Energy Management, LLC or Southwest Power Pool Western RC. This order is in effect beginning on September 13, 2026, through December 11, 2026.
