On May 23, 2025, Department of Energy (DOE) issued an emergency order, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, to Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO). The emergency order directs MISO, in coordination with Consumers Energy, to ensure that the J.H. Campbell Power Plant in West Olive, Michigan remains available for operation, minimizing any potential generation shortfall that could lead to unnecessary power outages.
