This week, OTT launched its newest tool to help streamline the process of connecting and partnering with the Department of Energy’s National Laboratories and facilities: Solutions Exchange. Hosted on OTT’s landmark Lab Partnering Service, Solutions Exchange is our first service to provide a tailored experience to America’s innovators looking to overcome difficult scientific or technical challenges with the help of our world-class researchers and facilities.

The Department of Energy’s 17 National Laboratories conduct research across the entire spectrum of scientific knowledge, from materials to medicine, advanced manufacturing, genomics, particle physics, and high-performance computing. These renowned science facilities are distributed across the United States, part of the legacy of the original labs built during the Manhattan Project. Today, they invigorate regional economies, form partnerships with Universities and local and state governments, and unlock the secrets of the universe.

But if there’s anything we’ve learned at OTT, it’s that the entire process of connecting with our Lab system can be overwhelming for the uninitiated—and we suspect there are many out there looking to solve a pressing scientific problem, but lack the facilities or the expertise to do it. That’s where Solutions Exchange comes in.

With this new program, OTT makes it easier than ever to engage with the National Labs based on the specific challenge you’re facing. Users can access Solutions Exchange by visiting OTT’s Lab Partnering Service in the “How to Partner” section. From there, all that’s left is to fill out a simple questionnaire describing the nature of your challenge. Once submitted, our experts at OTT will analyze the problem, investigate possible solutions, and create a menu of recommended options through which you can engage. As the figurative “front door” to DOE, we work hard to make it as easy as possible to get National Lab innovations on the path toward market and America’s innovators paired up with the researchers and tools they need to succeed.

So head over to Lab Partnering Service now and give Solutions Exchange a try!
