On September 18, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued emergency DOE Order No. 202-26-47, pursuant to section 202(c) of the Federal Power Act, to CenterPoint Energy and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO). The order directs CenterPoint Energy and MISO to take all measures necessary to ensure that Unit 2 at the F.B. Culley Generating Station in Warrick County, Indiana is available to operate and to employ economic dispatch to minimize costs for the American people. The order is in effect beginning on September 20, 2026, through December 18, 2026.
