The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Alternative Fuel and Feedstocks Office (AFFO), enables research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) to accelerate technology commercialization for the production, storage, delivery and use of alternative fuels, fertilizers, chemicals, and feedstocks to enhance the security and reliability of energy networks and lower energy costs for Americans. As part of the Office of Critical Minerals and Energy Innovation, AFFO integrates legacy efforts in the Bioenergy Technologies Office and the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Office under one office.
AFFO selects RD&D projects through open and competitive procurements, and encourages collaborative partnerships among:
- Industry
- Universities
- National laboratories
- Federal, state, and local governments
- Non-government agencies.
This AFFO webpage offers additional resources and information about current and past funding opportunities, requests for information, and related opportunities from other DOE offices and federal organizations.
