The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Alternative Fuels and Feedstocks Office (AFFO) relies on subject matter experts to review applications for federal funding opportunities, project review meetings, and active projects. AFFO is looking to grow our reviewer database of subject matter experts to review the merits of funding application proposals and ongoing projects. You could be exactly who we are looking for!
AFFO enables research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) to accelerate technology commercialization for the production, storage, delivery and use of alternative fuels, fertilizers, chemicals, and feedstocks to enhance the security and reliability of energy networks and lower energy costs for Americans. Through collaboration with our National Laboratories, academia, and industry, AFFO advances energy independence by establishing a secure domestic supply chain, lowering production costs, invigorating a strong U.S. workforce, and fostering energy growth through diverse, domestic production pathways.
AFFO, integrating legacy efforts from the Bioenergy Technologies Office and the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office under one office, is looking for specific skill sets including, but not limited to:

While the timeline for review is set, the day-to-day schedule is not, and reviewers are able to complete their reviews at times that fit with their schedule. Participation on a project peer review panel may include travel for in-person meetings.
