The Cumberland system of projects consists of nine individual U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects developed for the Cumberland River Basin.  They are Dale Hollow; Center Hill; Wolf Creek; Old Hickory; Cheatham; Barkley; J. Percy Priest; Cordell Hull; and Laurel.  Project purposes include hydroelectric power, navigation, flood control, recreation, pollution abatement, and economic development.   Collectively, the projects provide 5.1 million-acre feet of flood control storage and 380 miles of navigation channel. Each reservoir has specific recreational facilities which attract millions of visitors annually. The total installed nameplate capacity of the projects is 914 megawatts, which generate an average of 3,116,000 megawatt-hours annually under normal operating conditions.
