
Craig is the Director of the Sustainability Performance Office at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). As the Director, Craig is responsible for management direction and oversight of DOE programs related to sustainability and climate resilience.
Prior to becoming the Director, Craig has served as a senior advisor on climate change and sustainability in the Office of Management, the Officer of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and the Office of Policy. He has also served as the Director of the Office of Fossil Energy’s Office of Environment, Security, Safety and Health. Craig also worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
He led the development of DOE’s Carbon Pollution-Free Electricity Roadmap, the DOE Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan, and the DOE Sustainability Plan. Craig has served as a lead author on numerous reports related to the energy sector and resilience to climate change and extreme weather, including serving as lead author for the Energy Chapter of the both the Fourth, and the Fifth National Climate Assessment. He has a Ph.D. in environmental sciences from the University of Maryland, and a Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University.
