The 2024 Annual MSIPP Technical Meeting will be held from April 9- 11, 2024 at the Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.
The Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program (MSIPP) Annual Technical Meeting provides opportunities for MSIPP award recipients from 54 colleges and universities and their partners from 15 DOE/NNSA facilities to hear from NNSA on future talent strategies and the direction of the program. The meeting will also provide a venue for recipients and partners to collaborate with other leaders beyond their respective projects.
This meeting will examine strategic methods for recruitment and retention of students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). An analysis of the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) workforce over the past four years identified a growing need to fill STEM positions at all levels. The MSI Partnership Program's mission to support and train students through collaboration between MSIs and the NSE aims to bridge this gap, providing internship opportunities specifically geared to develop a highly trained workforce. This meeting will provide a forum to showcase best practices in recruitment and retention, highlight the latest innovations at the NSE facilities, and discuss career pathways for students ready to meet the needs of the NSE workforce.
