DOE prepared this EA to evaluate the potential environmental consequences of providing an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 financial assistance grant to the county of Spartanburg, South Carolina to facilitate construction and operation of a landfill gas collection and pipeline system to recover waste energy at the Wellford Landfill in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
The NNSA has prepared an Environmental Assessment to analyze the potential environmental consequences of constructin, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning a 3-phased wind generator farm and its associated energy distribution infrastructure on Pantex Federal property or leased land using federal funding.
Energy Efficiency Design Standards for New Federal Commercial and Multi-Family High-Rise Residential Buildings and New Federal Low-Rise Residential Buildings
DOE has provided an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Development Block Grant (EECBG) award to the State of Kansas and proposes to authorize the State to expend $250,000 of this Federal grant to assist with financing of the design, permitting and construction of the City of El Dorado Wind Energy Project (the proposed project), a proposed 1.0-megawatt wind turbine to be located immediately west of the El Dorado Wetlands and Water Reclamation facility located at 105 Wetlands Drive in El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas.
The DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) prepared this Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the potential environmental impacts of providing funding to Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) for its proposed Norwich Cogeneration Initiative in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. NPU would construct and operate a high-efficiency natural-gas-fired reciprocating engine cogeneration facility on property leased from and adjoining Atlantic City Linen Supply New England (ACLS).
U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is proposing to construct and operate a Performance Verification Laboratory (PVL) facility to be located on the Morgantown NETL site in West Virginia. NETL would demolish Building 20, relocate the weather tower and rain gauge, and design, construct, and make operational a new 30,000 ft2 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified facility. The PVL would build upon the capabilities of NETL’s existing Appliance Technology Evaluation Center (ATEC). The new facility would house appliance testing rooms/chambers, storage area, warehouse area, staging area, offices, restrooms, and kitchen space. The PVL would be capable of conducting energy performance verification and enforcement testing on a broad range of DOE-regulated and ENERGY STAR-qualified appliances and equipment.
DOE prepared this EA to evaluate the potential environmental consequences of providing a financial assistance grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) (Recovery Act; Public Law 111-5, 123 Stat. 115) to Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (Air Products). If Air Products received the funding, the company would demonstrate the capture of carbon dioxide (CO2) from steam methane reformers at Air Products facilities in Port Arthur, Texas; transporting the CO2 via pipeline; and conducting monitoring, verification, and accounting (MVA) related to enhanced oil recovery (EOR) at the West Hastings Field.
On the basis of the Final EA, DOE has determined that providing a Federal loan guarantee to Record Hill for construction and startup of the 50.6-MW wind power project and its associated transmission line in Oxford County, Maine, will not have a significant effect on the human environment. DOE is issuing this Finding of No Significant Impact.
