The Department of Energy is proposing an action to fund the construction, operation, drilling, well completion and logging, a seismic monitoring network, and testing of two exploratory geothermal wells, and stimulation of one well, if feasible, on a 120-acre parcel of land in southwest Alaska.

The EA identified no potentially significant impacts to environmental resources resulting from either Western's Federal action or Basin Electric's Proposed Project.
