Baldwin Wind, LLC has requested to interconnect their proposed new Baldwin Wind Energy Center to the Western Area Power Administration's transmission system at Western's existing Hilken Swithyard.
DOE completed the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Thermal Energy Corporation Combined Heat and Power Project, Houston, Texas (DOE/EA-1740). Based on the analyses in the EA, DOE determined that its proposed action-awarding a federal grant to the Thermal Energy Corporation (TECO) to facilitate installationg of a combined heat and power (CHP) system at the Texas Medical Center's district power plant in Houston, Texas-would result in no significant adverse impacts.
The Department of Energy is adopting an environmental assessment completed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in June 2010 that analyzed the potential environmental impacts associated with the construction and operation by Granite Reliable Power, LLC of the Granite Reliable Power Wind Park located in central Coos County, New Hampshire.
Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is proposing the construction of a single 2.5 megawatt wind turbine facility on the Kirkwood main campus. Kirkwood is a recipient of State Energy Program (SEP) grant from the Iowa Office of Energy Independence (OEI) and United States Department of Energy (DOE). Partial project funding for the proposed turbine is from this grant.
