DOE/EA-2284: Tanana Chiefs Conference Alaska Tribal Energy Sovereignty; Minto and Grayling, Alaska

The U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) has completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) and reached a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for Tanana Chiefs Conference Alaska Tribal Energy Sovereignty, Minto and Grayling, Alaska (DOE/EA-2284).

DOE is proposing to authorize the expenditure of federal funding by Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) to construct and operate solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for the villages of Minto and Grayling in Alaska. As part of this proposed action, TCC would clear one acre of land and conduct site preparation for the PV racking foundation and an equipment pad at both locations. The BESS building would house solar batteries co-located with existing power plants.
