The U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Tanana Chiefs Conference Alaska Tribal Energy Sovereignty, Minto and Grayling, Alaska (DOE/EA-2284), which assesses the potential environmental impacts of DOE's proposed action to authorize the expenditure of federal funding by Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) to construct and operate solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) for the villages of Minto and Grayling in Alaska. Under the Proposed Action, TCC would clear one acre of land and conduct site preparation for the PV racking foundation and an equipment pad at both locations. The BESS building would house solar batteries and be co-located with the existing power plants.
