The Research Foundation of State University of New York proposes to use federal funding to evaluate the feasibility for woody biomass extraction (pretreatment) and utilization (fermentation) laboratory research. This project will include hot water extraction studies on sugar maple woodchips, wood extracts utilization studies, and residual woodchips utilization studies.
