
Sal Golub serves as the acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Supply Chain leading DOE’s research and development on advanced nuclear fuel cycle technologies that have the potential to improve resource utilization and energy generation, reduce waste generation, and limit proliferation risk.
Since 2007, Mr. Golub has provided executive leadership for a diverse portfolio including next generation reactor technologies, advanced fuel forms and reprocessing, space and defense power systems, modeling and simulation and sustaining the current fleet. He also served as Vice Chair of the Generation IV International Forum Policy Group.
He has held increasingly responsible positions within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and the Office of Environmental Management. Prior to joining DOE, he completed a variety of challenging projects in the commercial nuclear industry, including supervisory and management positions at 4 nuclear power stations in the areas of design, licensing, construction, plant startup, operations and maintenance.
Mr. Golub received his degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Clarkson University and is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.
