Nuclear science plays a vital role in many facets of our lives. From baseload electricity generation to powering space travel, applications continue to propel our society into the future. For this reason, we devote one week each October to celebrate both the past achievements of nuclear science and future opportunities it provides for our world.

Nuclear Science Week is a week-long celebration to focus local, regional, national, and international interest on all aspects of nuclear science. It takes place each year on the third week of October and will be recognized this year on October 16-20, 2017. Throughout the week, educators, employers, and community members will engage in conversations about the significance of nuclear science. Activities corresponding with the event are designed to elevate both the past achievements of nuclear science and future opportunities it provides.
