For over 20 years, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs has worked with Indian Tribes, including Alaska Native Villages and Alaska Native Corporations, as well as Intertribal Organizations and Tribal Energy Development Organizations, to advance affordable and reliable power. Between 2010 and 2024, 28% of all deployment funding and 42% of all completed technical assistance from the Office of Indian Energy went to Alaska.
We work with the DOE Arctic Energy Office and other federal agencies to support Alaska Native Villages in maximizing the value of their energy resources through:
- Technical assistance
- Financial assistance
- Capacity building.
