Steve Trischman serves as the Acting Associate Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Corporate Services within the Office of Environmental Management (EM) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Trischman is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic corporate operations and essential business services necessary to support and enable the over $8 billion EM cleanup program including resource management, acquisition and program management. Additionally, he advises and guides EM leadership on the successful integration of supporting policies and strategies.
He also serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Resource Management for EM.
Previously Trischman served as EM’s Director for Budget and Planning for seven years where he was responsible for providing leadership in developing mission strategies, policy and guidance for planning and executing EM’s annual program.
Trischman served for two years in the Office of Science as the Director for Operations Program Management responsible for formulating, managing and executing the Science Laboratories Infrastructure Program, as well as Science’s Safeguards and Security Program. Prior to being in the Office of Science, he served as the Acting Director for EM's Office of Strategic Planning and Analysis. Trischman has worked in a variety of different technical and programmatic areas including program and project management, regulatory, cost estimating, acquisition and strategic planning.
Prior to joining DOE in 1993, Trischman served as program manager at the Department of Navy for the modernization and nuclear refueling of U.S. aircraft carriers. He began his career in the private sector working for a shipyard where he planned and supervised the installation of shipboard fire suppression systems on Navy ships.
Trischman brings a combined 39 years of federal and government contractor experience to the job. He has a Master of Engineering Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
