The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO) funds solar energy research and development projects through competitive solicitations known as funding opportunities, as well as prizes. You can view all current funding opportunities here.
While most recent funding programs encompass all research areas, previous funding programs were limited to specific research areas: photovoltaics (PV), concentrating solar-thermal power (CSP), systems integration (SI), soft costs (SC), and manufacturing and competitiveness (M&C). Learn more about our research areas here. For a list of individual projects, view our Solar Energy Resource Database. See a list of our National Laboratory funding programs here. You can learn more about the projects SETO funds with other offices in DOE here.
You can view all active and completed funding programs in the tables below. These tables include announced funding programs (with links to landing pages), research areas, year announced (with links to press releases) and amount announced dating back to 2007.
