The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced a $3.4 million funding opportunity for the High-Performance Computing for Energy Innovation (HPC4EI) initiative. This funding includes HPC4EI’s subprogram High-Performance Computing for Manufacturing (HPC4Mfg), which is funded by the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office and the Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office.

Additionally, DOE announced $4 million in federal investment for 10 projects across 8 states that will harness the raw processing power of the world’s most powerful supercomputers—and the lab experts who operate them—to tackle today’s toughest manufacturing challenges.

HPC4EI is managed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
