Power Marketing
Southeastern markets 3,365 megawatts of hydroelectric capacity from 22 Federal multipurpose projects, operated and maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Southeastern serves 471 public power customers across an eleven State service area.

Power Dispatching
Southeastern's Operations Center dispatches power from pump storage and conventional hydro plants on the upper Savannah River as an industry sanctioned energy Balancing Authority in accordance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards.

Establish Rates
Southeastern's Marketing Team conducts annual repayment studies to determine if cost-based power rates will produce sufficient revenue to reimburse all generation, transmission, and marketing expenses. SEPA uses these studies to formulate and establish four regional electric system power rates for five-year terms, which the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approves on a final basis.

Renewable Energy Certificates
Southeastern provides renewable energy certificates (REC) for generation attributes of federal hydropower. All Southeastern's energy purchasers qualify for potentially six million REC created annually and 3.8 million REC were distributed in FY 2023.
