Current Members

Mr. Brady is an economic development director for the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership. He is a graduate of Wellston High School. Mr. Brady is the chairman of the Joint Economic Development Initiative of Southern Ohio Board of Directors, a member of the Ohio Economic Development Association Board of Directors, International Economic Development Council and Ohio Economic Development Association. He is interested in economic development and civic issues. Mr. Brady resides in Jackson, Ohio.

Ms. Carson is an administrative assistant for Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative (SODI). She is a member of the Odd Fellows. Ms. Carson has an interest in economic development and public health issues. She resides in Piketon, Ohio.

Mr. Crabtree is a laborer at the LIUNA Local #83. He has received training in hazardous waste and asbestos remediation. Jody is a member of the LIUNA Local #83 and serves as an auditor. He is interested in environmental and economic development issues. Mr. Crabtree is a lifelong resident of Pike County and has expressed interest in seeing the cleanup mission move forward at the Portsmouth site. He resides in Piketon, Ohio and was appointed to the board in September 2017.

Mr. Davis is a Scioto County Commissioner for Portsmouth for Scioto County. He received an associate in business from Ohio Christian University. Mr. Davis is a member of the rotary club of Scioto, Ohio commodores, county commissioner’s association of Ohio, and Portsmouth chamber of commerce. He has an interest in county, city, and tribal government as well as economic development. Mr. Davis has a vested interest in the growth and safe operation of the Piketon site. He has served on the port authority board and has extensive knowledge of economic development activities in the region. Mr. Davis resides in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Mr. Evans is the Jackson City Mayor. Mr. Evans has an interest in government and economic development. He resides in Jackson, Ohio.

Mr. Hemmings is an executive director for Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University. Mr. Hemmings is a member of the Ohio Commodores, a member of the Ohio Economic Development Association and is the president of the Ohio Rural Development Alliance. He is interest in economic development and civic issues. Mr. Hemmings resides in Scioto County, Ohio.

Currently retired, Mr. McLaughlin worked as an Executive Director for the Ross County Community Action. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Johnson C. Smith University. Mr. McLaughlin is a member of the Chillicothe Transit Board, Ross County Re-Entry Coalition, Carver Community Center Board, Ross County NAACP, and the Good Sam’s Food Network. He spent 17 years working in Oak Ridge Tennessee in the K-25, 15 years as a human resource director at the Portsmouth site. Mr. McLaughlin worked as a Human Resources Director for the city of Chillicothe after retiring from the Portsmouth site and then as the Executive Director for Community Action. He has an interest in minorities and business issues. Mr. McLaughlin resides in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Ms. Pfeifer is a workforce and business development director for the Community Action Committee of Pike County. She has a bachelor’s degree in strategic leadership and management from Ohio University and an economic development finance profession certificate. Ms. Pfeifer is a member of Pike County Chamber of Commerce and Minority Business Assistance Board. She has an interest in economic development issues. Ms. Pfeifer resides in Waverly, Ohio

Mr. Potter is a utilities operator for FBP and serves as the union president for USW. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Bellarmine University. Mr. Potter has an interest in labor and economic development issues. He has worked within the DOE complex across the county since 1988 and has experience with the DOE system as well as federal regulators so he believes he can bring a unique value to the board. Mr. Potter resides in South Shore, Kentucky.

Mr. Setters is a veteran and certified public accountant for Setters, CPA & Company. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Western Kentucky University, a Corporate Communications/ Business degree from University of Kentucky. Mr. Setters is a member of the Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ohio Professional Partners, Holy Redeemer Church Finance Committee, Ohio Society of CPAs, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has an interest in county/city/tribal government and economic development issues. Mr. Setters resides in Wheelersburg, Ohio.

Currently retired, Ms. Workman worked as a teacher for the Paint Valley Local Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and a Master of Science from Montana State University. Ms. Workman is a member of the OFT/AFT, League of Women Voters, Ross County Democratic Club, Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC) and HOPE partnership. She has an interest in educational and environmental issues. Ms. Workman resides in Chillicothe, Ohio.
