Oak Ridge, Tenn. – On June 19, the U.S. Department of Energy awarded Professional Project Services, Inc. (Pro2Serve) a contract to provide technical support services to the Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM). The five year contract has a maximum value of $49 million.

“After conducting an extensive nationwide procurement, we are very pleased to continue our partnership with Pro2Serve,” said OREM Acting Manager Jay Mullis. “They’ve been a great asset to our program in the past, and we look forward to their valuable support as we clean and transform the Oak Ridge Reservation.”

The Oak Ridge-based company provides a wide suite of services to DOE’s Environmental Management program locally. They are responsible for reviewing and evaluating the cost, schedule, and technical approach for upcoming and current cleanup projects. They also assist with engineering, project planning, project management, cost estimating, and schedule and cost analysis.

The new contract comes during a pivotal time for OREM. During the span of their contract, OREM is slated to complete its work at the East Tennessee Technology Park and transition major cleanup operations to the Y-12 National Security Complex. This will require extensive planning and coordination, and it aligns with the services Pro2Serve offers. 

“Oak Ridge has developed a reputation as a site that completes its projects on time and on budget with the tax dollars we receive,” said Mullis. “The support we receive from Pro2Serve is a major contributor to our ability to effectively direct and oversee schedules, costs, and projects at all three cleanup sites to achieve that outcome.”  

OREM is a DOE field site that was created in the late 1980s to address and remove diverse legacies and risks to protect the region’s health and environment, ensure the continuation of vital federal missions in science and national security, and make clean land available for future use to benefit the community.
