Director and Chief Administrative Judge, Office of Hearings and Appeals
Poli A. Marmolejos currently serves as Director and Chief Administrative Judge of the Department of Energy’s Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA). OHA has jurisdiction for conducting administrative hearings and issuing decisions involving various matters, including personnel security and whistleblower complaints, and appeals brought under the Freedom of Information Act. Prior to joining OHA, Mr.
Neil Schuldenfrei currently serves as an Administrative Judge, and the Deputy Director of the Office of Hearings and Appeals. In that capacity, he supervises Administrative Judges and other attorneys handling personnel security clearance appeals, contractor whistleblower investigations and hearings, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act appeals, and applications for exception from generally applicable requirements of a rule, regulation or order of the Department.
Director, The Alternative Dispute Resolution Office
Shahram Ghasemian is the Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Office which resides in the Office of Hearings and Appeals. The ADR Office provides mediation, training and other ADR services, and promotes the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques, at all levels of the DOE complex.
