Developed with support from the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) and other U.S. Department of Energy offices and federal agencies, along with private sector partners, the REopt web tool and open source code are publicly available at no cost. REopt helps agencies accomplish their missions by evaluating energy generation, storage, and efficiency solutions and identifying the optimal combination of energy technologies, system sizing, and operations for a site or portfolio of sites.
FEMP and NREL provide REopt user support, training, and technical expertise to help federal agencies implement distributed energy systems that minimize energy costs and enhance resilience. REopt standardizes and streamlines the technical assistance and site assessment process for agencies.
