As a part of its efforts to engage with the clean energy industry, members of the LPO team will be travelling to RE+, September 11-14, in Las Vegas, NV.

Due to the breadth of clean energy sectors represented at RE+, it offers LPO an opportunity to connect in-person with industry participants in many of the sectors that have been engaging with LPO—particularly virtual power plants (VPPs) and the solar supply chain.

The LPO will be on the ground in Las Vegas and involved in a wide variety of events:

  1. Taking Part in Informal Conversations: If you and your team find yourselves at RE+, our team would love to meet with you. Request a meeting
  2. On the Front Lines of Virtual Power Plant Deployment:
    • LPO Director Jigar Shah and LPO Senior Advisor Jennifer Downing will be giving a “Quick Talk” on DOE’s VPP Pathway to Commercial Liftoff Report on Tuesday, September 12 from 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM (Location: Veronese 2405, Level 2, The Venetian).
    • Director Shah will host a Master Speaker Series fireside chat with an electric utility executive to discuss how utilities can work with LPO on VPPs, including through the Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment loan program on Tuesday, September 12 from 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM (Location: Bellini Ballroom, Level 2, The Venetian).
    • Also, on September 12, LPO Senior Advisor David Nemtzow will participate on panel entitled “Virtual Power Plants in 2030, a Balanced Perspective.” This session will cover a forecast for VPPs in the U.S., followed by a discussion around the key issues holding VPPs back from broader adoption, and the perspective of the startups who are trying to transform the market.
