We appreciate your support of the 2023 DOE's Small Business Forum & Expo and look forward to a productive week in New Orleans. Please read the information below as it contains important deadlines and helpful tips to ensure your session is a success.
Please forward the following no later than Wednesday, June 7:
- Photograph: Format: PDF or JPG; Resolution: Minimum 300 dpi and at least 3 inches for its longest dimension; Color format: CMYK or RGB; photos downloaded from a website are unacceptable (quality is blurry).
- Brief Biography: Updated bio for use on program website and mobile app.
- Speaker Presentations: You may download the DOE2023 New Orleans PowerPoint template here.
- Your Mobile Number: In case, we need to reach you prior and on the day of the event. Your phone number will not be published nor distributed to the attendees.
About Your Presentation
- PowerPoint presentations must be on the approved Forum PowerPoint template.
- As a back-up, please copy your presentations onto a thumb drive and bring it with you to your breakout session.
- PowerPoint presentations and/or talking points must not sell or promote any product(s) and/or service(s).
- A speaker may briefly describe his/her company’s capabilities and business operation; however, DOE does not support infomercials for a specific company’s or individuals products and/or services.
- All PowerPoint presentations will be reviewed and approved by OSDBU’s Event Manager.
- Presentations brought directly to the session room, prior to the start of your session, may delay the start time.
- All speaker PowerPoint presentations will be posted on the New Orleans Conference Mobile App, and post-forum website in PDF format.
Speaker Handouts and/or Materials
DOE2023 Forum team nor OSDBU will print any session handouts for attendees. Speakers who wish to provide handouts are responsible for printing, shipping, accepting any materials, and delivering them to the session room, prior to the start of the session.
Breakout Session Room Set-Up
Breakout session rooms will be assigned and set-up classroom style. Each breakout room will be equipped with the following:
- Podium/table with standard wired microphone
- Laptop computer
- Slide advancer
- LCD projector and screen
- Each room will be Wi-Fi ready
- Session laptops will be Windows-PC based with Microsoft PowerPoint 2019. All presentations will be checked with compatibility. It is strongly encouraged for speakers to check if their presentation is compatible.
- An audio/visual (A/V) technician will be available onsite to help with any technical or last-minute concerns.
- The DOE 2023 Forum team will consider additional A/V and/or other equipment needs on a case-by-case basis. All requests must be received in writing to make the necessary arrangements.
General Session Room Set-Up
General sessions will take place in the Mardi Gras Ballroom. Seating will be set-up on the stage, and a wireless handheld microphone will be provided to the moderator and speakers.

Hotel Reservations
All moderators and speakers are required to make their own hotel reservations.
Flight Reservations
All moderators and speakers are required to make their own flight reservations.
Photographs and Videotaping
Taking photographs or using video equipment during any session or at any activities at this event is prohibited and violators will be removed from the premises. Only the official photographer will be authorized to take photographs.
- The organizers reserve the right to use any videos recorded at DOE’s Small Business Forum & Expo for public viewing on the forum website.
- The organizers reserve the right to use any photos taken at DOE’s Small Business Forum & Forum for use in forum materials, appearing either in printed documents or on related websites.
Press/Media Notice
Please be aware media may be present during your session. Media will be identifiable by their press badge.
Forum Attendees
We are anticipating over 1,200 attendees from around the United States. Breakout session attendance may range from 30-100 participants.
Speaker Cancellations
If a moderator or speaker must cancel due to unforeseen emergency, he/she must notify the DOE2023 Forum team immediately. If possible, and to the best of your ability, please attempt to provide a substitute to fill the vacancy.
