Session 5: Stakeholder Support for Veteran Owned Small Businesses from Elected Official to Protect America, and the National Veteran Small Business Coalition

Elected Officials to Protect America (EOPA) is a network of current and former elected officials who care deeply about protecting our planet, people, and democracy. Led by lawmakers who are veterans and elected officials from frontline communities, we connect and support lawmakers to create high-impact systemic change with strong environmental leadership.

Given the historic $370 billion investment inherent in the Inflation Reduction Act, EOPA established a National Climate Emergency and Energy Security Task Force Comprised of lawmakers, elected tribal leaders, and finance and implementation partners; the task force's purpose is to support the Department of Energy and other federal departments in the implementation of funding programs by connecting communities and businesses to assist state and local elected officials in implementing climate solutions. The goal is to ensure districts that traditionally have not received funding know how to apply and have the support to secure the funds, especially in Justice 40 communities.

The National Veteran Small Business Coalition will discuss support for veteran owned small businesses.
