ITO Project Database

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Industrial Technologies Office (ITO) funds projects that will strengthen the competitiveness of America’s industrial sector and accelerate the innovation of affordable, secure technologies and processes. Selectees include national laboratories, state and local governments, universities, nonprofit organizations, and private companies.

In addition to the projects on this page, ITO works directly with the private sector through technical partnerships, public-private consortia, and by working closely with other DOE offices in various cross-office programs.

The database includes projects that were active as of October 2022. The data comes from project applications and documents following award negotiations with DOE. This data is subject to change and is for general informational purposes only. DOE does not guarantee that the data is complete or free of error.

Glossary of Terms

Selected Projects: Projects are selected by DOE to receive funding based on potential impact and alignment with DOE's goals. Selection for award negotiations is not a commitment by DOE to issue an award or provide funding. Before funding is issued, DOE and the applicants will undergo a negotiation process, and DOE may cancel negotiations and rescind the selection for any reason during that time.

Active Projects: Projects that have successfully undergone negotiations and have finalized funding agreements with DOE. These projects are currently ongoing and receiving predetermined financial support from DOE.

Closed Projects: Projects that have concluded their operational period with DOE.
